About

Rigorous historical research informs the creative process, ensuring that the building’s heritage is respected and celebrated

past meets present

ELM is founded by award winning conservation architect, Emma Mullen, with a passion for conserving and adapting historic buildings so that they remain relevant for the 21st Century and beyond. With 10 years experience working on prestigious historic buildings throughout London, south England and Wales; ELM is based on the belief that a successful project hinges on a strong partnership between client and architect. By combining ELM's design expertise with the client’s vision, we embark on a journey of discovery.

Rigorous historical research informs our creative process, ensuring that the building’s heritage is respected and celebrated. Together, we translate the past into a compelling future, creating spaces that are respectful, authentic and inspiring.
